Isolate Aluminum Repairs
If you don’t prevent steel dust from settling on aluminum-intensive vehicle surfaces, galvanic corrosion will occur and weaken aluminum components. Additionally, steel dust that settles on aluminum exterior surfaces such as the hood, roof, or door panel will cause galvanic corrosion that will damage your paint job. It can happen in as little as a year or two.
The RAE Body Repair Station features a curtain (or optional wall) system that isolates your aluminum work area from nearby bays.

Aluminum dust is explosive when a spark occurs. Fire safety claims of some curtain manufactures may not meet new, tougher protection standards required by OEM aluminum repair certification programs. The RAE Body Repair Station is accepted by OEM certified collision repair facility programs.
Don’t be fooled by misleading claims
The body repair station’s e-glass curtain meets fire retardation standard EN-13501-1, required by OEM aluminum repair certification programs worldwide. EN-13501-1 requires low-flammability, very limited smoke development, and no creation of burning droplets or particles. Other curtain brands may only meet less stringent safety limits, such as Underwriters Laboratory standard NFPA 90A-1993 (which our e-curtain exceeds).
The built-in viewing window features TTV-red-RW visor lamination that meets the DIN EN 17700 standard for eye protection for workers outside of the aluminum bay.
Professional lighting system
The RAE Body Repair Station includes a new LED lighting system which provides optimal lighting conditions and is also characterized by high energy efficiency and robustness. The work area is separated from the surrounding area by a specially coated welding protection curtain. The integrated green lamella ensures that uninvolved people are optimally protected from the dangers of welding.
